Martin Jasek

Martin Jasek was born in the Czech Republic in 1963. In 1970 his family immigrated to Canada and settled in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended  the University of Alberta where he obtained his Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering in 1986 and his Masters degree in Water Resources Engineering in 1992.  In 1993 he moved up to Whitehorse Yukon to work for Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Water Resources Division. In 1995 he started to develop an interest in Ufology. In 1996 he started collaboration with his neighbor Lorraine Bretlyn  who had a lifelong interest in the subject.  In the Spring of 1997 he teamed up with UFO*BC and has become their Yukon Representative (See introduction).   On a more personal note, Martin married his lovely wife Jan  in 1995 and became the proud father of two shortly thereafter. In 2002 he moved to the Vancouver lower mainland and joined UFO*BC as a director but still remains active with the UFO Yukon Research Society based out of Whitehorse.

How I became Interested in the UFO subject

It was August 1995 when my interest in the UFO subject from early childhood was rekindled by a television program.   Although I was slightly skeptical, I started to read everything I could about the subject. In July of 1997 I traveled to Roswell, New Mexico to attend the 50th anniversary of the legendary UFO crash.  Back in the Yukon I was exposed to enough credible witness testimony that there had to be something more to all of this. I started to collect Yukon UFO reports but never could imagine the quantity and quality of sightings that would start to come across the desk in 1997 and thereafter.

As it turned out, my neighbor Lorraine Bretlyn also had an intense interest in the subject.  If you live in the Yukon, you may have noticed her UFO ad in the wanted section of the Yukon News. Together, we have been documenting recent and historical UFO sightings in the Yukon Territory.   However, we cannot continue to do this without your help.

If you ever had a UFO sighting or know of someone who has, we encourage you or them to contact us.  Who knows, maybe somebody else saw the same thing at around the same time.
