Roof ripped open. Mystery Missile Puzzles Police

A Durance Road resident and Saanich Police are puzzled over a mysterious hole apparently punched through the aluminum roof of a shed. The hole was reported Tues. by the shed's owner, F. H. Adams, 151 Durrance Rd. In addition to the roof, the mystery missile went through a piece of one-inch board and shattered a 4-by-10 beam. Police said the hole in the roof was about six inches by three inches. “We were busy breaking horses most of the day,' said Adams. "My son was the first to notice it. We went to the shed to get a piece of equipment and he looked up and said, 'God, look at that, dad'.

'We looked all around but couldn't find anything. The pieces of wood from the beam are lying on the ground, but, there is nothing to show what caused it,'

He said they didn't do anything about the matter till late in the day when he decided to call the police who are investigating the incident and have roped off the area.
