Red Light Darting Around

Sir:

To begin with let me compliment you on your most informative magazine with which I only recently became acquainted.

I can't remember how first became interested in UFOs but it was some time around Christmas, 1969. At this time a relative of mine saw a UFO from his front lawn. He saw it very clearly through his binoculars and described to me in considerable detail how it hovered, pulsated and seemed to change colors. His description was so convincing that I started extensive research on the subject in connection with a university project. It was most difficult to find information on any recent local sightings, even limited to B.C. People will not talk about it unless they are asked first and one certainly hears nothing on the news. For this reason I was very glad indeed to find your magazine.

Now I must relate what I myself saw one night. This was almost a month ago (placing it in May). I do not recall the exact date. It was about 11:30 and a clear and bright night. A red light through my window attracted my attention. It was sort of blinking or pulsating and seemed round about the size of a basketball. I was particularly amazed because it darted around rapidly in the sky: periodically the light would dim. I would compare it to a fish darting around in the water. When I saw this I thought it was no airplane so I immediately opened the window wide to see if there was any noise. There was absolutely none. After a few minutes the light cruised slowly across the back of our garden and moved off towards the right (approx. south). It then went out and I saw it no more. All the time it moved below the tree tops but I had no way of judging its distance. My mother arrived just in time to see a faint red light disappear as all this happened very fast.

The next morning my mother was talking to a friend on the phone, and this friend happened to mention that her son and husband had seen a UFO through the binoculars the night before about 9:30. They described it the same as a red light but through the binoculars it gave off a red light like a tail.

I was very pleased to read about the petition to the UN. If you are still conducting this survey I think I could have about 30 or so questionnaires filled out if you could send them to me.
