More Sightings in Mill Bay

Mill Bay, BC - January 16, 1970

Canadian Aerial Phenomena Research Organization
Investigator: Garry Jopko

Witness #1:

Mrs. Clarke was looking out the window when she saw a light coming towards her which she thought was a plane. The object was amber coloured and, since it had no visible navigation lights, Mrs. Clarke then realized that it was not a plane. Mrs. Clarke told her husband about the object, who went outside and then she left her post at the window and she didn’t see the object after that.

Witness #2:

Mr. Clarke was alerted to the object by his wife. He saw an object move slowly from the north to the southeast. The object was balloon-shaped and seemed to have 4 or 5 lights near the bottom with a ray of light seeming to curve from bottom to top. It eventually disappeared behind some trees.

Witness #3:

Mrs. Orland had just returned from shopping and was very tired when she saw a group of cars stopped beside the road. As she was getting her mail, two men pointed the object out to her and when she saw it, she was very curious. She then drove home, which was nearby, and went inside. When she went to a window to look out at the object, it was gone.

When Mrs. Orland was outdoors, she detected a faint odour of gunpowder. She wonders if there is any connection.

Witness #4:

Roger Peters, a teenager of 18 or 19, is skeptical about the whole sighting. He believes that it was a plastic bag with candles inside. The whole time he watched the object, it was motionless and he thought he saw something like burning paper fall from it. As he watched, the object suddenly went out, as if a light bulb had been turned out.
