Mayor Jim Quaife and his wife Carol are the latest UFO observers. Carol said this morning her husband returned to their home at 294 Coronation last night around 11:30 (7 January 1970) after a meeting, rushed in and said "Come on, quick and see this."

There it was, high in the sky, a "great big red thing with a purple light around It," says Carol: "I could hardly believe my eyes. It seemed to sit there, then move around and then sit for a while. It was round and at one point it looked as if something dropped off it."
