Victoria, BC (Swan Lake area) - April 30, 1968

APRO Files

At about 9:30 Friday night, the 10th of May, a bright pulsing white light was seen in the sky by Mrs. W. Chamberlain, her husband and daughter and some other people in the area. Mrs. Chamberlain said that the object was at an altitude about 5,000 feet and flying at the speed of a propeller-driven plane. It flew in an easterly direction and made no noise. As the light crossed the sky it changed to red, became increasingly bright and “seemed to disintegrate”. As it disintegrated, what looked like pieces of molten metal fell to the ground. No pieces have been reported found. The entire incident took about 10 minutes. Mrs. Chamberlain said that the light was much brighter than any of the stars. There was no cloud cover and the wind was light in variable directions. Authorities report that there were no planes in the area at this time.
