UFO SIGHTING REPORTS FROM 2023

28-Jan-2
023, Nanaimo, BC: (8:40pm)

My hubby and I went to my work xmas party tonight as it was cancelled due to the snowstorm just before xmas. We were at the VIU (university) student union pub in Nanaimo, BC and when we got out, there was this thing in the sky moving East to West at around 8:40pm. It was moving towards us in the sky but the flashing light wasn't the right pattern for a helicopter or a plane. So I got my husband Brandon to grab me my phone and I got out of the car. As soon as I was about to take a photo it literally stopped and hovered. I took a few photos... it was like all of a sudden it was pretending to be a star except it was too large to be a star lmao. You can see the top of the VIU building and the orb/ufo above.

14-Feb-2023, Vancouver, BC: (12:52am)

I was crossing the Burrard Street bridge on Sun Feb 12 at 12:52am heading northbound and took a snapshot of the arch, as I've always loved the pink lighting and surrounding lamp decorations. I stood stationary to review the photo and noticed there was a weird glowy light in the middle so I looked up in the sky to see what it was and it vanished. Nothing at all to see. When I zoom in on the photo it looks like rectangular panels of light and they're in an up down/up down formation. Couldn't believe my eyes. What did I capture? My friend said it could be a firefly, but I feel a firefly does not fit for scale. The light panel in questions seems bigger than that.

2-May-2023, Cranbrook, BC: (1:20pm)

Hello, today at approximately 1:20pm local Cranbrook BC time I witnessed what first appeared to be large birds (6-7) flying in formation to the NE of Cranbrook.

I quickly realized they were not birds as they weren't flapping any wings, then I thought they were small airplanes or jets, then realized they had no tails or wings.

The only discernable features I could see was they were all completely identical, white in colour, and appeared to be partially cylinderical and crescent shaped. No signs of exhaust, propulsion, or sound.

I have worked at the local airport for 20+ years, and have not seen anything like this. My best estimate is the objects were cruising at about 600km at an altitude of 3500 ft. above ground level.

They flew southerly for about 10 seconds then turned east and then after about another 10 seconds quickly faded out of sight like going into a fog, but it is a clear blue sky.

I would be interested to see if any other similar sightings are reported.

27-May-2023, Richmond, BC: (11:10pm)

Sighting at approximately 11:10 - 15pm, May 27, 2023, in Richmond, BC.

Object seemed to be a few kilometers away from where it was observed (appeared as point of light). Estimate it to be somewhere over west Richmond or just off the shore over the Strait of Georgia, south of YVR airport, north of Steveston Village.

Looking west from our townhouse balcony, my wife and I were looking at Venus and Mars which were both easily visible that Sunday evening. After a couple minutes looking at the sky we saw a light moving upward from the horizon. It was moving quickly and was similar in brightness to the brightest stars. There are not many visible stars in our area because of the light pollution of the city. So, it was bright enough to be easily noticed even with the light pollution. At first I thought it was a satellite and would have dismissed it as that. However, after observing for several seconds the light split in to two. Yes, split! It became two objects, each object instantly changing direction and moving apart from each other. Then the two objects quickly faded out shortly after splitting. Think of the trajectory of an object moving in a “Y”; moving from the bottom of the Y at the horizon, splitting, instantly changing direction at the split, then two objects fading out at the top of the “Y”. VERY weird. My wife and I both saw it. The entire thing lasted about 5-10 seconds and there was no time to video it. I’ve been thinking about it since it occurred and here are my conclusions:

Aircraft: It was not an aircraft. Yes, we are close to YVR airport in Richmond. We see and hear aircraft all the time and are very familiar with what aircraft lights look like, their sound, and flight paths. The brightness and speed of the light(s) did not correspond with any aircraft we’ve seen. First, the speed was very fast for the apparent brightness. At the speed we observed the aircraft would need to be nearly overhead and would have been very loud. This was completely silent. To match the brightness we saw the aircraft would need to be much further away than overhead however, the speed would then need to be much slower. It was traveling very fast compared to its apparent brightness. Second, the moment the object became two objects moving apart from each other (and faded out shortly after) eliminated any aircraft I know of.

Satellite: I’ve seen satellites in the sky before. A satellite was the closest thing the light(s) could be described as. However it was brighter than a satellite and moved faster. Again, satellites do NOT travel in a “Y” shaped trajectory. They do NOT diverge in to two objects, change direction instantly, then continue on as two objects that fade out. No satellite does that that I know of.

Meteor. Meteors do not split, at least not like this. If a meteor splits the fragments continue in the same direction.

Flare: This might explain the light fading out. However, this did NOT look like a flare in any way. It did not move like a flare. It most closely resembled a bright, fast-moving satellite as just described.

Fireworks: This might explain the object diverging and then the two objects fading out. However, it did not look like a firework. There was no noise, no smoke, no sparks, no color (it was a white light like a star), no curvature to it's path. It was precise. It was a perfect straight path and a perfect split (like when a billiard ball strikes two other balls down the middle). The new paths of the new objects were also perfectly straight. There was no explosive nature to it in any way.

Drone: Someone could have been flying a drone. However, the speed, nature of the light, lack of noise, and way the object became two does not add-up. It did not look like a drone.

Neither of us can determine what is was. All we can say with some certainty is we know what is was not.

UFO*BC Notes (May 31st): Back and forth correspondence with the witness, resulted in this great visual description of the report.

31-May-2023, Port Coquitlam, BC: (Afternoon)

I only noticed the object after reviewing the footage a week or so later.

The object caught my eye and the flight path was smooth and strange, plus it was descending. I went closer to the screen and that's when to me I noticed it sure looked like a silver sphere or orb. What's crazy is that while I was doing that,  a 2nd object caught my eye and sure enough a 2nd orb followed shortly after...

Then to my surprise... A third!

I was shocked seeing the 1st one trying to figure out what it was so when I saw two more I was dumbfounded. They came from a dark cloud above the top of the screen,  flew straight for a bit going E to W then angled smoothly down and followed the same flight path as the first.

They were about 10 seconds apart maybe 1st to 2nd object and 5 seconds 2nd to 3rd.

We see lots of air traffic IE planes and helicopters but I'm pretty sure three of either in that short of space following the same flight path would be unlikely? Balloons don't really change paths or descend like that.. Leaving drones?? Three drones that close, that high up looking like perfect round silver orbs? Also descending to where? These are the questions I had myself and of course what else could it be?

UFO*BC Notes (June 20th):

After corresponding with the witness and seeing the associated video, the quality/distance makes identification impossible. There are indeed a series of craft in the air, but cannot determine either way if standard aircraft or not.

3-July-2023, Coquitlam, BC:
 (10:15pm)

Witness saw very bight object hovering in the sky.

Time: 10:15pm

Location: My viewpoint was on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam (David Avenue x Princeton)

Direction Facing: Facing south/southwest and if looking at a map I’ve lined up that line from my position would be directly a straight line to Crescent Beach. It’s hard to say exactly where the light was hovering over but definitely near 14200 Green Timbers Way (the Surrey RCMP) strikes me as a possible location. The light was very high up in the sky above approximately this area or anywhere between this area and Crescent Beach but no closer to me.

Direction Object(s) moving: Not moving at all but hovering in place at least 45 minutes to a hour and not moving at all.

Speed of Object(s): No speed

Duration of Sighting: 45 minutes to one hour.

How the Sighting Ended: The light faded and disappeared completely. Never returned. Never became anything obvious like an airplane. Just gone.

Number of object(s): one

Description of Object(s): A very large, very bright, burning ball or orb

Apparent altitude of Object(s): Very high. Much higher than nearby sky rises - it seemed airplanes were passing by it.

Sounds (if any): none

Any other details?: Very large. Airplanes passing by looked like tiny dots in comparison.

 UFO*BC Notes (July 10th):

After corresponding with the witness and seeing the associated videos, it is clearly not a celestial object (such as Arcturus). The intensity and duration is baffling.
The witness did see a similar object around the same time of year in a previous year, so some type of advertisement is possible.

If anyone has any knowledge on what it could be, please let us know! Thank-you!.

18-July-202
3, Burnaby, BC: (1:46am to 2:01am)

Well I saw 3 at around 1:46 am on July 18 pr 19th 2023. I was in Burnaby, BC Metrotown mall location. They were hovering separate but I would say 100 feet to 300 feet  apart.

Very low halfway up the high rise my camera or video would not work until the 3 formed together and just zipped off to another planet it sounded like from what I could describe is a magnetic harder jet if that makes any sense but I watched them without being able to use phone to record from 1:46am to 2:01 am it definitely was not from our planet I know that for sure.

UFO*BC Notes: Details are a bit sketchy, but hoping someone may have seen something on that July morning. If anyone has any knowledge on what it could be, please let us know! Thank-you!

6-Aug-2013, Gambier Island, BC: (8pm-11pm)

I was staying at my friend's cabin on Gambier Island, it was in-between 8-11:30pm.

His cabin is on the eastern coast of the island, and we were situated about 200-300m up from shore. The island is boat-in only but does have a few dirt roads for access to properties from the docks.

At first we thought it was bright high beams of someone driving down the road but then the bright white light was now heading down the neighboring property towards the shore (from the dirt road). The object was about 5-15m off the ground, lower than the tree canopy as the shadows were noticeable. It was about 150 meters away when we first noticed it. Its size was hard to tell because of how bright it was. Larger than a car and spherical. Very bright white light. The object then took off at a high rate of speed over Cypress Mountain. I didn't see it disappear behind land but the light dimmed away.

The red pin in the pictures attached are where we were camping. The arrow is the flight path.

15-Aug-2023, WhiteRock, BC: (2:30pm)

I was driving south towards White Rock on King George Highway at around 2:30 yesterday afternoon  just before driving over the overpass I saw something in the sky a silver object that was stationary for 3 seconds then it shot up and disappeared. It wasn't an airplane, helicopter, drone, or a spy balloon.

UFO*BC Notes: Multiple attempts to get additional information from the witness have so far gone unanswered.

10-Sept-2023, Kimberley, BC: (10:40pm MST)

NW sky heading north to south
Size and brightness of a light bulb but more oval
Very fast - 8-10x faster than an airplane
No sound
No tail behind it
Very low in sky…appeared to be lower than Northstar Mountain
If I had to guess I would say 5-10km away
Saw for 3 seconds maybe then disappeared behind trees

UFO*BC Asks: Also did it cross the entire sky (horizon to horizon) or was it evident for a ‘shorter’ length?

  • It's hard because we are in a mountainous region and lots of trees
  • I didn't see where it came from as there are some trees to the north and then a large mountain in behind about 10km's away so I don't know if it came from behind the mountain or if it was on the front side of the mountain.
  • Once we saw it it streamed from the north toward the south on a fairly level trajectory but trending downward like maybe 2 degrees.  It did not have a radius though it was a very linear trajectory. It then went behind trees again and we could see where it went.

13-Sept-2023, Fauquier, BC: (9:00pm)

Sept 13 2023 bright lights crossed the sky in line coming from northeast crossing top of our house to the southwest. 21:00. Fauquier B.C.

UFO*BC Notes: Given the time it is likely StarLink. However no further details provided.

21-Oct-2023, Prince George, BC: (6:00pm)

On October 21 2023 at 6 pm (dusk) I watched a very large, very long cylindrical craft fly silently overhead south of my location. I was at my cabin on my friend’s land 25 km west of Prince George B.C. CANADA, 1 km upriver from the reserve.

The craft was  about 500 feet in elevation, heading southeasterly. There were about 40 lights along the length, in a straight line. There were differing lights upon each end. It had to be 300 yards long, the color was sky-color difficult to ascertain.

I thought I could hear a VERY faint sound, a sort of hum. I watched it for about 10 seconds. Maybe omit the location details, because it is not there now, and no one is welcome on the PRIVATE property unless permitted by the owner.

Further Details:

OCTOBER 21 2023 6:00 PM.

SIGHTING Over Wilkins Regional Park, MIWORTH B.C. Canada,

I was facing SOUTH, positioned on the NORTH side of NECHAKO RIVER.

MASSIVE CYLINDRICAL CRAFT was heading from North west, to South EAST.

Craft was cruising at 35 kmh. Appx.

I observed it for 8-10 seconds

Object cleared height of land beyond my ability to observe.

ONE LARGE CRAFT

I guess, 500 ft elevation.

CRAFT was about 300 YARDS long. Had windows along side mid riff of curvature of the body

At least 40 windows, lit from within. It appeared to be travelling in a mist, or some sort of self generated cloud cover

There were lights at each end of this craft, they appeared to  be of WHITE LED color. The craft was grey/sky colored,

So effective it was difficult to ascertain where this craft outline was precisely.

This craft was 40-60 feet in height from top to bottom.

I could barely hear a nearly inaudible hum coming from this craft.

It was about 500  yards south of my position, and the trees near me blocked  my view for a second or two as it  went past.

22-Oct-2023, Ladner BC: (7:00pm)

Drone?/UAP in Ladner

I wouldn’t generally report something as minimal as this - but both my husband and I exclaimed “What was that!?” at the same time last night, and my husband isn’t particularly interested in UAP.

Around 7pm last night (Sunday Oct 22) we were driving north on Hwy 17 at the Hwy10 intersection. We stopped at the stop light. A strong bright white light appeared over the middle of the pedestrian overpass (no one on the overpass) then streaked left (east to west) and then completely disappeared above the trees behind the houses. It was only 2-3 seconds.

I thought it was close to us. My husband said it acted (fast speed etc) the same as a light in a meteor shower, even though this object was travelling east to west with a slight increase in elevation at the end before it disappeared.

We thought it could be like a single aerial drone (like those used in drone light shows), but the speed was greater than we thought a drone could travel.

It was a clean light - and didn’t fit what we normally would see with a firecracker or fireworks. We had a window open and didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary, but we were at a stop light and there were normal traffic sounds - we didn’t have the radio on.

So, we both agreed that we had seen something unusual/weird. My husband hadn’t seen anything like that before. I saw an orb on the East-West Connector in Jan 1991, but it was so close and scanned my car - totally different to our mini sighting last night.

We just wanted to report it in case anyone else made a report.

Further Details:

From 12 o'clock in front of us about 200m ahead, at about 50 feet above road surface to our 10 o'clock position, to the west side of the Hwy 17, rising rapidly at a 45 degree angle as it went.

The object was so bright and obvious in front of us, moving at the speed of a shooting star but appeared too fast for a drone, not appearing like a firework or flare. Seemed too fast for a drone.

It made both my husband and I exclaim "what was that!?" - really weird. It certainly wasn't like a confirmed orb that I saw in 1991. It looked like a shooting star but not in the sky. My husband said he hasn't seen anything like that before.

25-Oct-2023, Daisy Lake, Whistler BC: (7:00pm)

I was driving to Whistler last night and as I was driving north at Daisy Lake I saw a bright deep orange ball that looked like it was falling out of the sky. There was no blinking of any lights, just a solid deep orange color. It's hard to estimate the size but it was close enough that it was quite noticeable. The time probably would have been close to 8pm. At first I thought it was a meteor or "falling star", but it was falling slower than others I have seen before and it didn't have a tail of any sort. Most other falling stars also appear to break up as they get lower but what I saw didn't do that either. It stayed solid and as it got lower it just vanished. I'm sure there was a bit of optical illusion at play from the angle I saw it but it looked like it was just falling out of the sky at a moderate speed, and was quite low, not higher in the atmosphere. I thought I would report in case you hear of anyone else seeing anything around Whistler last night.

26-Nov-2023, Chilliwack BC: (8:00pm)

I go onto balcony to have a smoke and started star gazing when all of a sudden a triangle flew over my friends home, it was close enough for me to be able to make out where the lights were on it and the outside shape of the craft but was almost as if it was invisible/transparent it made no noise and flew at a straight and steady pace I've never seen anything like it. It was traveling from the west going east bound, I'm just floored to have witnessed something so magnificent! I have no doubt in my mind that this was 100% a UFO there's not one thing that it could have been mistaken for not one! I seen it so clearly and so close up.

UFO*BC Notes (Dec 6th): UFO*BC has contacted and attempted to gather additional information with no reply.
