Meteorite, flying saucer, unidentified flying object or what have you, one was seen by the RCMP at Valleyview.

Constables G. C. Grieg and F. J. Kummer of the Valleyview detachment, reported they witnessed a space phenomenon about 4:20 a.m. Friday morning while on patrol in the area, about four miles south of the Little Smoky Bridge on Highway 43.

A noiseless reddish object with a green tail, about the size of the moon, passed through the skies from the west to the east and remained in view for about 10 seconds before disappearing, they said.

The object could not be accounted for by local air stations or the weather bureau.
